Plastic Oceans - Pastel beach debris

Long time friend, Photographer & Artist Thirza Schaap is raising awareness for ocean conservation with her beautiful series 'Plastic Ocean.' Thirza, originally from the Netherlands moved to South Africa 5 years ago after intending to stay for only 6 months.

Soon after settling in Cape Town Thirza became concerned by the amount of plastic that was washing up at her local beach. "It was like confetti, like there'd been a birthday," she says, "It made me realise what we've done."

Thirza began to collect the rubbish and photograph help grow an awareness she will be producing a series of posters and creating signs for Cape Town buses. As well as releasing limited edition prints soon available through her website.
